Mike C. Harris, CASPF, President of Cornerstone Senior Living, has complete responsibility for all activities of Cornerstone. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Mike has a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Psychology. After six years with the General Electric Company in sales and marketing, Mike became involved in the senior living industry. Since 1985, Mike has been involved in the development of over one half billion dollars worth of continuing care retirement communities (CCRCs), has been responsible for over $250 million in sales of CCRCs, and has been responsible for the management of four CCRCs, with combined annual operating budgets of more than $30 million. Mike is a frequent speaker on Aging issues to national, state and local audiences. Mike is a Certified Aging Services Professional - Fellow (CASPF), a designation of the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA). He is an associate member of AAHSA, the Georgia Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (GAHSA) and has served on the board of directors for the GAHSA Institute on Aging. He is active in local community and church endeavors. Allen D. LaFavor vice president - development services
Al Lafavor, Vice President - Development Services for Cornerstone, is responsible for facility and operational planning, coordination of architects, contractors, engineers, local planning and zoning agency approvals and construction oversight and punch-out. Al has more than 20 years experience in construction and facility engineering and operations. Before joining Cornerstone, Mr. LaFavor served for nine years as Building Engineer and Director of Building Operations for Port Royal, a $45 million, 18 story condominium complex, in Augusta, Georgia. From 1981 to 1985 he served the City of North Augusta, South Carolina, as its Superintendent of Codes Enforcement and Community Development Rehabilitation Specialist. In both these capacities he was responsible for reviewing building plans and job sites for compliance with local, state and national codes, writing project specifications, conducting competitive bid processes, and negotiating and administering construction contracts on behalf of these governmental bodies. He attended Augusta College and Southern Polytechnical State University and is an associate member of AAHSA and GAHSA. He is a certified member and registered inspector with the International Code Council. John P. Murphy vice president - planning & financing
John P. Murphy, Vice President - Planning & Financing for Cornerstone, is responsible for delivering a full range of development planning services including crafting strategic planning initiatives, structuring new and repositioned projects and obtaining permanent financing. John has over 7 years of direct experience in the senior living industry. From 1997 to 2002, John worked in the Atlanta office of KPMG LLP where he prepared financial and market feasibility studies utilized in CCRC bond financings in excess of $500 million. As a manager in the Planning & Finance group of Texas-based Greystone Communities, he planned start-up and redevelopment CCRC projects throughout the country. More recently, while with the St. Joe Company, John was a Project Manager of a 1,300 unit master planned active adult community located outside Orlando, Florida. In that role, he managed all aspects of new community development, including product design for single and multifamily structures, construction operations, sales and marketing, warranty services, and property management. John earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration from Cornell University. He is committed to volunteerism and especially enjoys teaching Junior Achievement business curriculum in local elementary schools. |
